returned to camp.
This morning at camp caught 1 Tham-
nophis ordinoides. This was taken on the
bank of the creek and headed for the
brush at the water's edge when pursued.
June 17 This A.M. went into Adria for mail. Saw a
canyon where there which is nesting on an
old stone building (almost = a cliff). Also
saw English Sparrowa, Western King-
birds, Linneto, Calif. Jays and Calif.
Quail at Mrs Adria.
On the way down, shot a Cnemidophorus
from a bank beside the road. This locality
designated as 1/2 mi. S/W Mrs Adria, 3200 ft.,
San Benito Co., Calif.
Returned to camp in the afternoon. From
5-7 P.M. hunted up the first canyon SE of camp,
to the ridge which reached in highest point an
elevation of 5100 ft. On the north side at the
lead of the canyon, shot a Black-chinned
Sparrow in the scrub oak. Saw 3 Golden
Eagles on the ridge. Other birds were not
as numerous as usual, possibly because
of the stiff breeze on the ridge.
