Microtus californicus z. Palmer 1935 Angel Island (cont'd.) Oct. 19 Hawks are shot whenever possible contd. This too may tend to allow this overpopulation. Oct 20 Caught 25 in 45 gro-size mouse traps set on a slope near Blunt Point. Traps about 5-10 paces apart in low tangled cover of Baccharis, Artemisia, grass, wild Blackberry and Bush Lupine. Several of the mice were eaten as on the previous night and I suspect more Microtus. No other mice of any kind were caught here.
