Palmer 1935 Reithrodontomys megalotis 1 mi. E Ontario, 1050 ft., San Bernardino C., Calif. Aug. 9, 1935 Caught 3 (all ?) in 50 gov.-size mouse traps set 10 paces apart across a low dunes of fine sand by scattered low plants of Ambrosia psilostachya, Onothes pallida var. californica, Nicotiana bigelovii, Salsoala kali, Croton californicus, and Amaranthus graecizans. Junipar Mts., 850 ft., (3/4 mi. N W Riverside), Riverside C., Calif. Aug. 15, 1935 Caught 3 (?♂, ?♀) in 40 gov.-size mouse traps set in line through sparse low brush consisting of Salvia apiana, Salvia mellifera, Artemisia californica Eriogonum fasciculatum and Opuntia sp. on hard baked soil. 1 mi. N E Laguna Beach, 500 ft., Orange C., Calif. Aug. 18, 1935 Caught 7 (?♂, ?♀). Most of these taken in matted wild oats and Euphorbia albomarginata (?) or in clumps of saw grass (Cladium mariscus) scattered around the open west facing slope. One was taken in a gulch in mixed Avena fatua and Eriogonum fasciculatum.
