Palmer 1935 Itinerary Aug.8 Ontario, 1100 ft., San Bernardino Co., Calif. Made 2 sets for gophers in the yard at my home 1158 Columbia Ave., Ontario last night. This morning found 1 Thomomys bottae in the 2 sets. Took in both sets. In the evening (6 P.M.) drove E on 4th St. 7 mi. Set traps at a place designated as 7 mi. E Ontario, 1050 ft., San Bernardino Co., Calif. Set 50 gov.-size mouse traps across a low sand dune on the S side of the road. The dune is very fine sand with scattered low plants of Ambrosia psilo- stachya, Oenothera pallida var.californica, Nicotiana bigelovii, Salsola kali, Croton californicus, and Amaranthus gracilans? Traps set 15 paces apart by plants. Aug.9. 7 mi. E Ontario, 1050 ft., San Bernardino Co., Calif. At 6 A.M., 50 gov.-size mouse traps on the sand dune held mammals of the following species: Dipodomys agilis, 1; Dipodomys merriamii, 1; Peromyscus manicul- atua, 5; and Reithrodontomys megalotis, 3. Jurupa Mts., 850 ft. 6 3/4 mi. N Riverside Riverside Co., Calif. Aug 14 In the evening, drove SK from Ontario to the above locality where I set 40 gov.-size mouse traps. Traps set 15 paces apart about 1/3 in the sandy bottom
