Palmer 1935 Callospermophilus chrysodeirus Hd. Doggett Cr., 5500 ft, Siskiyou Mts., Siskiyou Co., Calif. June 3, 1935 Shot a & in a bare flat about 100' x 150'. She "chirped" much like a Douglas Ground Squirrel from the lower branches of a Red Cherry after she had run over to the edge of the flat. The flat had a small fringe of Red Cherry around the edge back of which was heavy forest of mixed Red Fir, White Fir, Pinus monticola and Incense Cedar. This & had 5 embryos 8mm. in length (crown-rump). June 8, 1935 Saw one run down from the top of a stump about 12 ft. high. This was near the edge of heavy forest of Red Fir with some White Fir.
