Caught a ♀ in one of 70 gov.-size mouse traps set in the wet meadow. Taken at the edge of the stream by a quiet pool about 3 x 6 ft. on soft mud under tall sedges. Oat bait. Had 4 very small embryos.
About 6 P.M. found a ♀ in one of 70 traps in the wet meadow. This one was still alive when found and bit at the trap and sniffed vigorously in my direction with vibrissae constantly in motion. The trap was on moist ground in tall sedges under dwarf willows about 9 ft. from a small stream.
