Palmer 1935 Zapus pacificus Donomou Meadows, 5800 ft., 15 mi. W Hilt, Siskiyou Co., Calif. June 16, 1935 Caught a ♂ in 30 grr. size mouse traps in the wet meadow. Taken about 2 ft. from a small stream under dwarf willows in annuals, 6-10 in. high. The annuals most noticeable were Ranunculus and yellow violets. Oat bait. June 17, 1935 Caught a ♀ in 30 mouse traps in practically the same situation as the one taken yesterday but slightly farther up the creek. There was slightly more grass and sedges where this one was caught than where the one was caught yesterday. Had 6 Embryo x 3 mm. Oat bait. June 18, 1935 Caught a ♂ in 46 grr. size mouse traps set near the stream in the wet meadow. Taken under Alnus tenuifolia on fairly moist ground in low annuals and grass. Trap was about 3 ft. from the stream. Oat bait. Poker Flat, 5000 ft., 12 mi. NW Happy Camp, Siskiyou Co., Calif. July 2, 1935 About 8 P.M. (nearly dark) saw a Zapus hop across a small gravelly patch at the edge of the meadow and into a willow about 4 ½ ft. high. It hopped up onto a horizontal branch about 5 inches off the ground,
