Itinerary
July 15 cont'd. in a pure stand of small Douglas Fir. Shot a large grown Citellus douglasii in a rockpile by the creek. It was quite hot and birds were not conspicuous. Saw: Robin, Lazuli Bunting, Chestnut-backed Chickadee and Western Tanagers.
Shot at bats in the evening, but got none. Bats were much fewer than last night altho it was raining last night and is clear and warm tonight. Saw only 5 bats from 7:35-9 P.M.
July 16. In 28 goy-size mouse traps and 1 rat trap in a line up E.Fk. Illinois R. caught 1 Clethrionomys, megarana and 4 Perimysecus maniculatus. 20 goy-size mouse traps in Minotus runways caught nothing. 7 pole traps caught nothing. Took in all traps to move today.
Saw & Dusky House and 2 young eating raspberries in the garden. She is a pet of the family and, according to Mr. Allis, has been around for several years. Mr. Allis and Mr. A.L. Hobart, who was here again this A.M., both say they are Ruffed Shrou [illegible] Tree, Heand Mourning Dove, Chickadee and Black-headed Grosbeak. Saw Hermit Thrush
