Palmer 1935 January June 30th. Poker Flat, 5000 ft., (contd.) Worked back down [illegible] stream. Plants along line from a dense growth, largely made up of Cornus californicus and Acer glabrum with Ribes sanguineum. Underneath these is a dense ground cover of Ribes lacustre, Ribes menziesii and Ribes marshallii. In the gulches which apparently have streams at some time of year found some low plants and fewer large shrubs. Here found Fritillaria pudica, Trillium, Lappula fluit-bunda, Aquilegia formosa, Smilacina awn-plaxiaulis, Vicia americana and low bushes of Lonicera conjugialis. In the evening put out a line of 25 gov.-size mouse traps around the edge of the willows in the meadow near camp. July 1st/1935. In 25 gov.-size mouse traps caught 3 Microtus mordax (?) and 4 Peromyscus maniculatus. Traps set in tall grass, sedges, buttercups and shooting stars at edge of willow clumps in boggy meadow. In the evening this line held 1 Microtus mordax. Set another line of 18 gov.-size mouse traps and 2 rat traps through conifers. Most of traps set by logs in dense stands of
