June 25 Clear Creek, 1400 ft. (cont'd.)
cont'd. A map of this region is as follows.
This A.M. again saw & Mountain Goats and a flock of young young.
In the P.M. set a line of 31 gor.-size mouse traps in the flat around camp, across Four Mile Creek and up the slope to the N. About 1/2 of the traps were in grass and Hypericum sp. at the edge of rather thick growth of Garry Oak, Madrone, Amelanchier, and Douglas Fir. The other 1/2 of the line ran up a hillside thru Garry Oak, Canyon Live Oak, Kellogg Oak, Madrone & Douglas Fir. Added 15 traps to the Four Mile Creek line of traps.
June 26. 50 gor.-size mouse traps on Four Mile Creek caught nothing. In 31 gor.-size mouse traps around camp and up the slope to the N. caught 4 Peromyscus truei. Took in all traps & prepared to move.
Klamath R., 1000 ft., mouth of Clear Creek, Siskiyou Co., Calif.
Broke camp at Clear Cr., 1400 ft. about 12 - arrived at above locality about 2. About 4 P.M. went back to look for golfer working at Clear Creek Ranch but failed to find any.
