Palmer 1935 Itinerary June 22 contd. Clear Creek, 1400 ft., 3 mi. w Clearath R. (cont'd) Camp was made about 100 yds. above Four Mile Creek which runs into Clear Creek from the N. Clear Creek is about 30 ft. across and fairly deep. Its banks are steep and rocky and the road runs along here about 100 ft. above the creek where there is a narrow shelf about 75 ft. wide. This shelf is continued on the far side of the creek and was apparently the old stream bed. The flat around camp is covered by dry grass and Hypericum perforatum near the north while back toward the creek, it is covered by a fairly thick growth of Garry Oak, small Douglas Fir, Madrone, Amelanchier, and Yellow Pines. The sides of the canyon are covered by a thick growth of Madrone, Douglas Fir, Garry Oak, Canyon Live Oak and Kellogg Oak. On the S side of the canyon there is mixed in with this Acer macrophyllum and Alders.
