June 9 Ed. Doggett Cr., 5800 ft. Siskiyou Mts.
contd. Caught nothing in 4 mole traps nor in 3 steel traps set for Aplodontia.
In the evening, went around trapline.
Found 2 Clethrionomys mazama and 1 Eutamias amoenus in 43 traps. Moved
1 mole trap.
June 10 In 35 traps by stream in alders caught
1 Junco. In 43 gor.-size mouse traps
by logs in conifers caught 6 Peromyscus
maniculatus. Shot 1 Eutamias townsendii
in a jumble of dead branches under
a fir tree. Shot a Canada Jay from the
top of a 25 ft. Red fir. Shot a Callospermo-
philus from red cherry on an open hillside.
Caught nothing in 4 mole traps nor in 3 steels
set for Aplodontia. Moved 2 of the latter into
the burrows (had been set at burrow entrances
before).
Dr. Grinnell and his family left unexpectedly
this A.M. about 8 o'clock.
