Saw 1 Callospermophilus run down from the top of stump and saw a Sciurus douglasii in a red fir. Set 3 #1 steel traps in Apodotnia runways. Shot a Junco in a clump of small red firs. In the evening went around traps and found 1 Clethrionomys mazama in a trap under a small red fir by a large rotten log. Set out 15 more gow-size mouse traps by logs in conifers. Looked at traps on way back to camp and found another Clethrionomys mazama in the trap that held the first one. Traps out tonight = 65 mouse, 4 steel, 4 mole, 1 gopher. June 9 In 35 gow-size mouse traps along grassy stream banks in alders caught 1 Microtus sp. In 43 mouse traps by logs in conifers caught 3 Clethrionomys mazama and 11 Peromyscus maniculatus. Shot a ? Sciurus douglasii from a branch about 8 ft. up in a small red fir and an Olive-sided Flycatcher from the top of a small white fir. Saw 2 Callospermophilus in a bare spot on the ridge. Saw 2 Deer.
