July 29 (cont.) Sarcobatus and some other plants also up the side and along the top of a large sand dune which was largely bare. Rained about 2 hrs this night.
July 30. Caught mammals of the following species: 7 Dipodomys merriami, 3 Dipodomys ordii and 3 Microdipodops pallidus (?). Most of the D. merriami appeared to have been caught early in the evening before the rain while the D. ordii and microdipodops apparently were caught after the rain which lasted from about 7:30-9:30.
Drove SE from camp in the P.M. with Russell and Johnson to the same place as July 29. Here set 45 gnr-sized mouse traps. Then drove back toward camp, and at a point 1/2 mi. SE Wadsworth, 4200 ft. Lyon Co., here I set 45 more gnr-sized mouse traps on sandy soil in Sarcobatus, Atriplex, Chenopodium, Ephedra and Artemisia.
