The Cottonwood trees.
July 8. Caught mammals of the following species: 18 Dipodomys merriami, 7 Dipodomys microps, 2 Dipodomys ordii, 5 Perognathus panamintinus, 2 Onychomys torridus longicaudus, 2 Microdipodops pallidus, 1 Peromyscus maniculatus and 3 Reithrodontomyss m. megalotis.
Drove 5E from Camp with Ward Russell to a point 8 mi. SE Schurz, 4100 ft., Mineral Co., Nev. This is near the East shore of Walker Lake. Here I shot one F Horned Lark in the sand dunes and one Callisaurus ventralis. Also set 36 gopher-sized mouse traps on some small sand dunes and on [illegible] coarser sand in Atriplex, Sarcobatus and Chenopodium
July 9 Caught mammals of the following species: 7 Microdipodops pallidus, 4 Perognathus panamintinus, 1 Dipodomys merriami 1 Dipodomys ordii in 36 traps. On the way back to camp shot one Crotaphytus witzlingii.
Drove north from camp thru Schurz [illegible] with E.R. Hall and at a point 7 mi. N Schurz, 4600 ft., Mineral Co., Nev,
