Palmer/1934 July 6 (cont.) a few feet above the ground in some dead bushes underneath a large Cottonwood tree. The actions of the bird were much like those of the Vigor's Bewick when of the Berkeley, Calif. region. It hopped about with tail cocked up at an angle and was singing vigorously when shot. Caught one gopher - Thomomys bottae cinereus in one of the 5 traps set near camp. Set 7 traps in Meadow-mouse runway in grass on the edge of an irrigation canal. Trapped with E.R. Hall. [illegible] W. Walker R., 6 mi. S Yerington, 4500 ft., Lyon Co., Nev. July 7 Caught one Reithrodonomys m. megalotis and one Mus musculus in 4 traps. Broke camp 8:15 A.M. and drove to a point about 20 mi ENE of this camp. Camp was established 3 mi S Schurz, 4100 ft., Mineral Co., Nev. Set 74 gov-sized mouse traps mainly on sandy or gravelly soil or on hard adobe flats in Atriplex, Sarcobatus, Chrysothamnus and Chenopodium. In the evening near camp, shot one Pipistrellis as it was flying around
