Reithrodonomys megalotis
Sugarloaf Peak, 1300 ft., 1 mi. E Stadium, Berkeley,
Alameda Co., Calif.
Feb. 27 Caught 3 in 51 traps. All were B. One
was taken on a rather steep south
facing hillside in Artemisia. This
Trap was at least 100 ft from any
glass. The other two were taken
in short grass on the W side of
the peak. One was taken in a
Microtius runway. The other was
caught in a trap set by the opening
of a small burrow about 1 in. in
diameter. From this burrow there
was a series of rather poorly formed
small runways extending out into
the grass.
