Palmer 1935 Dipodomys merriami. Mar 25 3 mi. S Oro Grande, Mojave Desert, San Bernardino Co., Calif. Found a specimen dead in the center of the road. It was night so couldn't see much of surrounding country except that the ground was sandy with [illegible] scattered low shrubs. (Specimen discarded) Two Springs, T. 17 N. R.3 E., San Bernardino Co., Calif. Mar 27 Caught 2 in 35 traps set on coarse sand and gravel with scattered large bushes of Atriplex and Covillea. Holes which I assumed to belong to this species were fairly common, usually under the periphery of some bush.
