Itinerary
Two Springs
scattered bushes of Atriplex and
Corillas. Here I collected a Phrynoosoma,
a Callisaurus and a Uta. The latter
two were quite common. Near the
spring, I found dead Wilson Snipe.
There were a number of Linnet's
around the spring.
About 4 P.M. drove back on the
road to Drinkwater Spring to the place
where the fresh gopher workings were
seen. Here at. 3 mi. N Drinkwater Spr., T.17N.
R.H.E., San Bernardino Co., Calif. made 7
sets for gophers with 10 traps. Then
drove back to Two Springs and set
50 mouse traps. About 15 were set
in the grass and rushes around
the lower spring and the rest were
set out on the sandy soil near
bushes of Atriplex and Corillas.
Bats flew around the waterhole
all evening but I failed to hit any:
