Palms 1935 May 26 Contd. Itinerary Drinkwater Spring to Two Springs From Drinkwater Spring drove back to the main road at the edge of a large dry lake. Here observed many old gopher sign but could find no fresh workings. Drove on toward Two Springs and at a point about 3 mi. N Drinkwater Spring I found fresh gopher workings in what appeared to be an old lake bed. Drove on thru about 3 mi. a narrow canyon to where a side road turns off 2 mi. to Two Springs and drove to Two Springs where we camped. Two Springs, T. 17 N. R. 3 E., San Bernardino Co., Calif. The springs are located at the base of some low mountains at the upper side of a wide valley. There is quite a patch of tall grass around the upper spring with meadow grass in the lower part of theepage. The lower spring has also a good sized patch of tall grass and rushes and a willow tree and two screw-bean trees. From the lower spring there is a long slope down into the valley.
