Dec 29 Caught 3 in 5 rat traps. One was taken in
front of a hole under a bush in the
side of a wash-bank. Another was
taken on black lava rocks on a rather
steep hillside. The third was taken
in a trap set by a large nest between
two very large rounded granite
boulders. This nest was made up of
sticks, stones up to 1 1/2 in. diameter, bones,
horse dung and cactus thorns. About
The entrance was a great mass of
droppings, probably indicating long
Tenancy of this nest by wood rats.
