1 mi. N of Warner Well, Morongo Valley San Bernardino Co., Calif.
Dec. 28 Caught one in 60 gov.-size mouse traps.
This one was taken in a trap set among large granite boulders in the bottom of a narrow, rocky cañon. The trap had only been set a few minutes before it was sprung. The cañon was practically bare of plant life except for a few scattered bushes of Catclaw (Acacia gregii?) growing in cracks in the rocks.
Cottonwood Spp., 1 mi. W Old Woman Spp., San Bernardino Co., Calif.
Dec. 29 Caught 2 (?) in 70 mouse traps. These were taken close to the bases of 2 rocky hills. Plants nearby were mainly Creosote bush (Corvilis), Sarcocornia triplex and Chenopodium (?).
