1/58 Columbia Ave., Ontario, San Bernardino Co., Calif.
Dec.24 Two small boys brought in 2 Thomomys.
They had trapped in a vacant field nearby.
In the afternoon shot at Brown Towhee
a little west of where the traps were set
last night. This place designated the same
locality as specimens trapped last night. i.e. 1/2 mi.
N.E. Ontario, 1/100 ft., San Bernardino Co., Calif.
Dec.25 In P.M. drove E on 6th St. to a point,
2mi. E.NE Ontario, 1/100 ft., San Bernardino Co., Calif.
where set 55 gov.-sized mouse traps:
about 10 traps were set in rather poorly
formed runways in some green foxtail
grass. The rest were set down a sandy
wash among low bushes of: Eriogonum,
Artemisia, Senecio, Lotus glabra and
some green grass.
Dec.26 2mi. E.NE Ontario, 1/100 ft., San Bernardino Co., Calif.
In 55 gov.-size mouse traps caught
mammals of the following species: 6 Dipos-
donys agiles, 6 Peromyscus maniculatus and
3 Reithrodontomys m. longicaudus.
Shot 2 robins here and saw Audubon
Warblers, Brewer Blackbirds, Doves, Western
Bluebirds, Flickers, Sparrow Hawk, Shrike,
and Linnets.
