Palmer 1934 Itinerary 1158 Columbia Ave., Ontario, San Bernar dino Co., Calif. Dec.20 At my home at the above locality set 2 gopher traps in a burrow in the garden. Dec.21 Caught one & Thomomys b. pallescens in the set made last night In the P.M. drove E 5 mi. on 4th St. and set 30 gov.-sized mouse traps on an sand dune in an old peach orchard. The only plants growing here were Russian Thistle. Then drove 2 further mi. E and set 50 gov.-size mouse traps_ on a large sand - dune which was overgrown with Squaw-bush (Rhus trilobata), Rumex sp., Artemisia sp., Russian Thistle and green grass. 5 mi. E Ontario, 1050 ft., San Bernardino Co., Calif. Dec.22 Caught 3 Dipodomys a. agilis, 4 Peromysc cus maniculatus and 1 Reithrodontomys m. longicaudus in 30 gov.-size mouse traps 7 mi. E Ontario, 1050 ft., San Bernardino Co., Calif. Dec.22 Caught 1 Dipodomys a. agilis, 2 Dipodomys m. parvus, 11 Peromyscus maniculatus X and 1 Mus musculus in 50 traps set here on a large sand dune.
