♀ taken in runway in Puccinellia
and Hordeum grass at base of
Bacharus bush. Well developed
system of runways around several
bushes. Cut leaves of Soap-root
(Chlorogalum) found in runway -
Oatmeal and raisin bait.

500 ft., North Side of Dwight Way
Hill, Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif.
♀ 11- taken in well formed runways
in Puccinellia grass and Chlorogalum
(Soap-root). There were several well
worn runways forming a system
that did not extend beyond the
limits of chlorogalum. Only a few
furrows were seen. While setting
traps, one was observed cutting
leaves of Soap-root probably for
food, possibly to use in the bottom
of the nest
Oat bait.

runway thru dried grass & thistles.
