Reithrodontomys megalotis longicaudus
Mar. 25 900 ft., 1/4 mi. E.N.E. of Botanical Garden,
Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif.
Took 3 &'s in traps set in Microtus
runways in grass and sedges.
Hillside with gradual slope toward
the south. Nearby were Artemisia,
Poison Oak and Bush Lupine
Two of those caught an #21 and #25.
The other one was caught at the
base of the tail and was still alive.
He was taken home and then given to
E.J. Hooper. The feces left by
The mouse in the box were about
3/6 - 1/4" long, and a little over 1/6" in
diameter, tapering from near the middle
to the pointed ends.
Sept. 29 1000 ft., 1/4 mi. ENE Botanical Garden, Berkeley,
Alameda Co., Calif.
Took 6 in 45 traps on a south
facing hillside covered with dry grass
between rather large clumps of Artemisia,
Rhoeo serraifolia, Bush Lupine and
Bacharus. It appeared that most of
these were caught in well worn runways
probably belonging to Microtus
