Palmer 1934 Dipodomys merriami farvus Aug 13. 5 mi. E Ontario, 1050 ft. San Bernardino Co Calif Caught 3 in 70 traps set on a dune of fine sand about ½ mi. long and 50 ft. wide. The dune was covered with a rather thick growth of Russian Thistle, Sunflowers and Squaw Bush (Rhus Trilobata) with areas of open sand between. This is apparently the western most record for this subspecies.
