Dipodomys merriami farvus
Aug 13. 5 mi. E Ontario, 1050 ft. San Bernardino Co Calif
Caught 3 in 70 traps set on a dune
of fine sand about ½ mi. long and 50
ft. wide. The dune was covered with
a rather thick growth of Russian Thistle,
Sunflowers and Squaw Bush (Rhus
Trilobata) with areas of open sand
between. This is apparently the western
most record for this subspecies.
