4 mi. NNE Claremont, 2000 ft., Los
Angeles Co., Calif.
June 17 This place is just west of the mouth
of San Antonio Canyon and is 1 mi.
SW mouth of Evey Canyon, just at the
base of the foothills. Set 7 traps
up a small hillside and onto a
level bench in Artemisia sp. and
Salvia apiana.
June 18 Caught one Dipodomys agilis on the
flat and one Peromyscus b. cowlesi?
on the hillside -

June 17 Drove N from Ontario on Euclid Ave.
then W on 24th St to mouth of San
Antonio Canyon and up the canyon
to Hog Back, there turned right up the
road to Barrett Canyon. Barrett
Canyon is a branch of San Antonio
Canyon which runs east into San
Bernardino Co. Drove about 1/2 mi.
up the canyon and camped at the cabin
of E.W. Fischer. The canyon here is rather
narrow with a small stream running
down it. The canyon bottom is filled
with large alder trees, California Laurel,
and broad leaved maples. The sides
