Thomomys quadratus
June 29 2 mi. SW Pine Grove, 7250 ft., Mineral Co.,
Nev.
Shot one & as she was pushing
dirt from the mouth of a burrow.
Many mounds in grassy flat around
camp. Black, rather fine soil, moist
from seepage of spring seemed to be
"preferred" to surrounding dry gravelly
soil.
July 22. Smith Creek Ranch, 5850 ft., Lander Co., Nu
With W.C. Russell caught 4 out of
6 sets made in a pasture. Soil here
in some places was rocky and at other
places fine and fairly loose.
