Palmer 1934 Micotus montanus July 13 Lapon Canyon, 8900 ft., Mt. Grant, Minera Co., New Mexico. Caught one very small one in a system of runways in grass beside a small stream. While taking this one from the trap, saw two more running in the grass. July 14 Caught 3 in 15 traps the same place as July 13. Also caught 10 in 50 traps in a boggy area where the runways were often had the bottom covered with water or very soft mud. In some places, cut grass was found in the runways. There were a great many holes in the ground indicating a large colony in this spot.
