Palmer

Eutamias quadricittatus
July 27. Peterson Creek, 7600 ft. Shoshone Mt., Landerb, Nev.
Shot one in a rock-slide while
hunting Conies. This one came out
as soon as the sun hit the rock-slide.
It first sat on a rock and washed
itself with its tongue. By squeking
I brought it up to within 3 ft of
me where it stood on a small rock
with its fore-feet on it and switched
its tail rapidly back and forth. A
movement scared it away far enough
to shoot it.
