Orr 1931 East slope of Irish Mtn., 6900 ft., Lincoln Co., Nevada. all present about camp. Russell shot a Virginia warbler, procuring the nest and eggs. This P.M. I set out 24 traps (rat) for chipmunks and left the previous nights' traps in the same place. A flock of 24 Pinon jays flew across the canyon while I was out placing traps. No definite formation was discernible. Some alighted on Pinons and Junipers near me and I shot three of these. One pair seemed to be feeding on juniper berries. Loud harsh cries could be heard all over the canyon. # 185 Perognathus parvus - ♂ wt. 27.2g. 175-93-24-10 # 186 Peromyscus maniculatus - ♂ wt. 149: 164-73-20-19 Specimen removed to private collection of R.T.Orr " truei - ♂ wt. 15.1g. 185-87-22-26.5 # 187 # 188 # 189 Cyauscephalus cyancephalus ♂ s/skeleton June 9, 1931 Dover and Ward left this A.M. Traps contained three Peromyscus maniculatus and two O. truei. Saw a Black-Tailed Jack rabbit sitting beneath a clump of sage brush among the Pinons. When I came within seven feet of it, it hopped out into the open four or five feet away towards a Juniper. After Kotot still a minute or so it began to nibble Juniper leaves. After doing this for one half a min- ute, it began to go to the scopped out.
