Gopher mounds were plentiful in the gravel-filled washes. However, due to the rain it was difficult to determine their age.
Summit Springs is located among low rolling hills, upon which large vegetation is absent. Occasionally, a small Yucca tree may be seen. Sage brush and Cholla are present. Lints are quite plentiful.
Moved camp this afternoon to a point in Desert Valley, 5 1/2 miles north. Large Tree Yuccas are plentiful. The soil is very sandy and smooth, large bushes of sage brush growing loosely about. Large light rock flows (Sieberts) are present.
Set 65 traps along the sandy area to try and catch a new light colored type of Microdipodops taken by Hall several days ago.

Heard Mockingbirds singing during the night. This A.M. The traps contained 1 Peraquathus parvus and 1 Onychomys torridus, also 3 Peraquathus panamintinus. Packed camp early to go to Alamco and thence to the Irish Mtn. Range. Alamco is located in the Paharanaget Valley. Several latters formed by old springs, are located in
