(Crossing Camp) told Boyers that one of the trappers or woodcutters about here caught a weasel last week. Boyers thought he saw one yesterday near here. He likewise found a [gray] fox skull and skeleton (Gray?), in process of decay, up the creek this a.m.
During the late p.m. Hyla were heard down the creek which is covered on both banks with snow. A flock of Valley Quail were seen today and yesterday along the edge of the brush.

Trap line this a.m. contained 1 Sorex
1 Peromyscus californicus and 1 Peromyscus boylii. The three animals caught were along the trail on the edge of the brush leading up to the top of the ridge. Shot a large adult brush rabbit just back of camp at 7 a.m. When first seen it was running about in loose brush where there is quite a bit of snow. I followed it and it dicked about for a distance of about 35 yard in the same area finally stopping and permit-ting me to shoot it thru branches & twigs.
I spent 1/2 hr. crawling thru dense brush
