1/2 mile S of Oak Spring, 5700 ft.
Myc Co., Arv.
Oaks. At 9 A.M. I went up canyon NW of camp,
setting rat traps for Ammospermophilus and
chipmunks. Went up to near top of butte,
6100 ft., setting traps beneath Junipers and
Pinyons. Skt three Ammospermophilus
leucurus, all at or near bottoms of
canyons. Saw Black-throated Sparrows,
Isbell Flycatchers, Sheik, Linnets,
and Yellow American Goldfinches.
Found a Bobcat skull on top of a rock
up the canyon.

5:30 P.M. Traps contained no Ammospermoph-
ulus. Saw a number of old coyote
droppings. Heard a Canyon Wren
this A.M. Thought it is cold and I
saw no rats. May possibly be some
correlation between these two facts.
