Orr 1932 Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif. August 1, 1932 Where we camped on the Columbia River desert signs of pocket mice (P. parvus) were extremely numerous. Placed out 25 mouse traps in suitable places. Aug. 2, 1932 This morning there were tracks of mice all about the traps, but not a single trap was springing. Perhaps the rolled oats was not a suitable bait. Continued home today via Columbia River Highway to Portland and from there south through the Willamette Valley to Grants Pass. Camped south of Grants Pass. Aug. 3, 1932 Continued out to Berkeley today. In the Shasta Valley we picked up three Lepus californicus skulls near Greka and Gazelle. Temperature at Red Bluff at noon, 110° F.
