Orr 1931 \n1/2 mi. S Oak Spring, 5700 ft., Uye Co., Nevada. \nMay 25, 1931 \nlocalities, except when it was very rocky. Wood rat signs were abundant among the rocks, and even in small rock piles away from tree rocky areas. P. forminus was caught in slightly rocky area at the top of a small rise. One Onychomys was trapped at the edge of a dry wash in sandy soil, beneath a clump of brush. \nOn the way back to camp 2 cottontails (multalli) ran across the road into brush in the bottom of a ravine. When pursued they ran fast, keep- ing hidden as much as possible. Their route did not seem to indic- ate that they were going to any def- ite spot such as a burrow. \nYoung jackrabbit seen down near trap line. One Ammospermophilus was seen sitting on a rock in a side ravine. The tail was up over the back and twitched up and down in a fast manner until it ran up the hill and disappeared in a pile of large rocks. Signs indicated a hole beneath a rock.
