June 23, 1932.
1 foot of the top it stopped, found the sun in the east and began singing. Found two gophers in my sets. Also placed out 2 more sets. This evening I placed out 35 mouse traps a little farther up the stream. Heard Willow Thrushes singing at 7:20 p.m. Along the small pools in swamp land abut to the stream three flys were heard croaking about 8 p.m. I caught one as it jumped into a small pool. In a nearby pool there were a number of small tadpoles. Heard a Horned Owl calling after dark.

The traps set along the stream in the grass, edge & beneath Alder contained this a.m as follows: 5 Peromyscus maniculatus, 1 Zapus, 1 Microtus mordax, and 1 Ototym. The Ototym was taken in a small clearing beneath a fallen log. Firs were about 50 feet away. Heard a Mourning Dove near camp. Miller shot another Willow Thrush up in a Yellow Pine along the stream. Packed camp and moved at 11a.m. and went NE thru Mitchell, stopping 17 miles E of there for lunch at a small stream along the road. There were Brewer Blackbirds, Yellow Warblers, Veepers Sparrows, Kingbirds, Rough-winged Swallows, a Trail Flycatcher and several Brewer Sparrows. Along the stream Willow-Trees was growing. Beyond, the land was overgrown with Artemisia. He captured a number of Rana along the stream. For the most part they were
