Amargosa River, 3 1/2 mi NE Beatty, 3400 ft.
Mye Co., Nev.
May 22, 1931
Set out 60 traps about 3/4 mile SW of camp last P.M. around some old buildings in a grove of willow and cottonwood trees.
Went back around 8:30 P.M. with Douth.
Shot at several bats but missed. Found some flying in an old brick cabin. Aided by flash light and improvised clubs we knocked down four Long-eared Bats (Coronyhinus Rafinesque Gallensius).
Collected some adult Bufo sp.? which were abundant about a swampy part of the river. Caught one Ryla.
Back at camp we shot five Autrogous Spalldies that were clustering on a barn raftor.
A shot seemed to attract the bats momentarily, afterwards repelling them.
Still many bats flying at midnight.
This A.M. traps around building contained 5 Peromyscus Crinitus. Here up along a fence on the hill and placed near brush contained 2 Peagnatus panamintinus, 2 Peromyscus crinitus, and 9 Ceragnathus formosus. The last species mentioned was found only in the open away from buildings.
