Oct 1932 5 mi. SE Millett P.O., Nye Co., Nev. June 7, 1932 On the west side there are a number of wilows in the water. There at least 30+ pairs of Yellow-headed Blackbirds were found. At shrewy Eget and 4 immaturo Night Herons flew up from this region when I waded in. Out in the pond 2 Wilson Phalaropes and 8 Reddy Ducks (1?, 20?) were seen. Large tadpoles (2-3w, long), probably of Scaphirpus hamondi, were abundant along shore in small seipus. 6 Night Hawks were seen in adjacent meadow foraging above it. 11 Violet Green Swallows seen in same area flying high. Earlier in the morning at 8a.m. a large Porcupine was seen beneath a Shepherdia bush 3/4 mi N.E. of cabin along edge of meadow. When I threw a small stick at it, it moved a little then turned around and re- mained quiet until I left. June 8, 1932 1480 Ardea candidissima & 481 Bufo Bonas This a.m. I went up to killdeer nest 1/2 mi. N of cabin. One young was just in process of emerg- ing from the egg. Watched it come out. First portion to emerge was right wing, then head, then left wing. Left there and went up to Yellow- headed Blackbird pond. Found yellow warbler's nest that Lued & Dr. Saw yesterday. 4 eggs in it today. I expected yellow-head nest & found
