Set out 200 traps about 1/4 mi. E camp last night. At that point large bare sand dunes, 250 feet high, were located. Placed traps around low bushes scattered along face of dunes. Great deal of sand blowing. Many beetles and Hawk Moths out. Trap line led away from dunes toward camp over small gravel and sand upon which were growing some small plants. Seeds and flowers were abundant upon these plants. Set 21 rat traps outside of large holes which were to be found usually near remote bushes. This A.M. traps in various localities contained: Two Dipodomys deserti by sand dunes; two Peiragnathus paramitinae
