Orr 1932 5 mi. SE Millett P.O., Nye Co., Nev. 91 May 25, 1932 Turios quite a bit of water. Saw a pair of Common Teal, a coot and a Sora Rail there. No marsh worms noted in rat tails. No evidence that Yellow Warblers are nesting yet aside from fact that they are paired, localized, and males often singing in same spot. Walked back via fence where I shot a Brotaphylus and a Crenidophorus in the sage-brush and Tetradyma. Near camp in Artemisia I captured a horned toad. May 26, 1932 Spent the morning from 6:25 a.m. until noon observing Red-winged Blackbirds and Marsh Hawks (pr.) nesting in a marshy area 250 yards N.E. of cabin. Small stream from spring flows there there. Ground grown with small species of Scirpus and some Carex mostly. At southern end, about 250 yards south of spring the water collects to a small certain extent and here is a series of small groves of Typha in which these birds nest. Song Sparrows and a Yellowthroat found in willow & wild rose thickets surrounding this. Morning clear & sunny. Mosquitoes, gnats & flies becoming more numerous. Shot a Lazuli Bunting near cabin at noon. Singing in willow and Shepherdia #468 ♂ Passerina amoena wt 13.5 g.
