Orr 1932 5 mi. SE Millett P.O., Nye Co., Nevada. 87 May 20, 1932 This morning we went up to Yellow-headed Blackbird pond 1 1/4 miles north of cabin. Pond has gone down and birds seem to have left, except possibly one pair. Found 5 Yellow-headed Blackbird nests, 1 Brewer Blackbird nest, 1 Mallard nest, and 1 Marsh Hawk nest. Tried to locate what we thought was a Yellow Rail heard last night. About 60 yards away from this point which was about 3/4 of a mile north of cabin, Luisdale flushed a small rail of unknown species. This p.m. we went south to a lake 2 miles north of San Antonio where we camped for the night. Collected Scaphisopus then saw 2 Ruddy Ducks, 1 Lesser Scaup and 1 Coot and @ 2 Spotted Sandpipers this evening. Very cold and windy. May 22, 1932 5 mi. SE Millett P.O., Nye Co., Nev. This morning we saw White-faced Goose. This and I shot a Ring-billed Gull at lake where we camped last night. It began snowing this morning so we started back, but had to return 1 hour later because of something left. When we reached the lake again it began to clear so we went up Pearine Creek to the ranch.
