(c-8?) Took a walk this @ 9m. up a canyon south of the house. Much of the timber (Pinjon) has been burnt off within the past two years. Deer tracks very numerous. Spent most of the time looking holes on cottontails, especially regarding habitat. Shot two Eutamias dorsalis on bobdeder among the pines on the sides of the creek left. Saw- Spotted Towhees (shot 1), Volmic Warblers (shot 1), Green-Tailed Towhee, Mour- ning Doves, White-crowned Sparrow, Rocky Mt.- Chickadee, Bushtits, Pinjon Jays, Wardhouse Jays, Red Shafted Flicker, Suterant Warbler, Chipping Sparrow, Pnr-will. Chrysorhammus, Wild Aster, Pinjon very abundant.
