Took a walk this @ 9m. up a canyon south of
the house. Much of the timber (Pinjon) has been
burnt off within the past two years. Deer tracks
very numerous. Spent most of the time looking
holes on cottontails, especially regarding
habitat. Shot two Eutamias dorsalis on bobdeder
among the pines on the sides of the creek
left. Saw- Spotted Towhees (shot 1), Volmic
Warblers (shot 1), Green-Tailed Towhee, Mour-
ning Doves, White-crowned Sparrow, Rocky Mt.-
Chickadee, Bushtits, Pinjon Jays, Wardhouse Jays,
Red Shafted Flicker, Suterant Warbler, Chipping
Sparrow, Pnr-will. Chrysorhammus, Wild Aster,
Pinjon very abundant.
