Orr 1931 Kawich R.O., 5900ft., Nye Co., Nevada 42/68 Sept. 25, 1931 ✓ # 370 Dipodomys Ordipes - ♀ 245-140-40-12 wt. 42.2g. " Collected Sept. 24, 1931, Green Creek, 7000ft., Kawich Range. ✓ # 371 " ♂ 286-120-42-13 wt. 60.3g. After lunch this P.M. Hall and I went west over the summit north of Quartzite Mtn. to Gold Flat, the valley on the west side of the southern part of Kawich Range. Gold Flat is really a south-ern extension of Cactus Flat. On the summit where the soil is gravel in composition and the hills very barren we set out two gopher sets. Continuing down to the valley we placed out 18 traps 4.9 miles from Kawich. The earth is sandy with some gravel on top. Brush is not much more than a foot high and not growing close together. Just before we reached this spot the country was darker due to a reddish brown gravel on the surface. Continuing west to 5.5 miles from Kawich I placed out 20 traps. The country being very sandy and the bushes taller and closer together. Going to 6 miles w Kawich when the country was similar to above,
