10.A.M. Collected Lyla and Bufo in swamp back of cabin. Tadpoles and young frogs quite abundant. The color of the lyla varied with the environment. 10:35 A.M. - Found a number of lizards (Sceloporus and Uta) living in dry sunny places, especially around old boards and rocks. Both types ran fast, but of the two, Uta was the faster.
Drott caught 1 specimen of Clemmys beneath a board which was lying among some dead leaves under a cottonwood tree.
Shot one bat this P.M. (Pipistrellus hesperus). It was flying about 15 feet above the river. Darts downward mostly when feeding.
Set 19 traps to the east of camp.
