Orr 1931 Kawich P.O. 5900 ft., Ely Co., Nevada. 67 Sept. 25, 1931 All the animals taken were frozen hard with the cold. This cold weather probably accounts for the poor trapping. The dunes are literally covered with mouse holes. Russell caught 93 in 15 traps one night last spring. After breakfast this a.m. a pair of ravens flew over the cabin. They were high up at first and sailing into the wind. They came down slowly by going first camp, into the wind then circling and descending with the wind. This process was repeated 5 or 6 times until they were about 50 ft. in the air. The wings were not flapped at all in the descending process. Croaking constantly, they kept their bill partly open. Few old jack rabbit fees about, but no sign of any about at present. Specimens taken 5 mi.
