Orr 1931 Kawich P.O. 5900 ft., Mys G, Canada. 66 Sept. 25, 1931 Camp my trap line was empty, with but traps sprung. The line of 25 traps 5 miles S.E. Kawich, 5400 ft., elevation contained two dark colored Microdipodops. These were caught as follows: one was taken on the side of a small rise where the ground was silty covered with dark red colored gravel. Here the ground was soft. The other was taken on top of the rise where the ground was the same, but harder. Vegetation was not very plentiful on top of the rise. Over on the sand dunes several hundred feet away the 30 traps I set out last night contained 4 light colored Microdipodops and 1 Dipodomys (no) appearing like lemurs, but very small! The place where the light colored Kangaroo mice were taken was pure sand of a light color compared to the area where the dark were taken. One specimen was captured down on a small flat sandy space between two ridges of sand.
