This evening Hall and Lamb placed out a number of Gopher sets while I was preparing dinner. Saw no bats flying around in the evening. After dinner Lamb and myself drove down to Cactus Flat, placing out 36 traps 5½ mi. SE Selwood. From here we went down to our gopher set several miles beyond and found a gopher caught (Thommys perpallida). We camped by our first trap line, 14 miles by auto road from Bren Creek. Running over my trap line at 10 P.M., I found 1 Microdipolys and 2 Perognathus nevadensis, all three caught alive by the tail. Saved one Pocket Mouse to keep alive.
