Sept. 21, 1931 This a.m., the 17 traps contained only 1 Dipodmys leucipes. Lamb caught nothing out of 84 traps and Hall only procured 3 specimens (2 Microdipodops) and 1 Dipodmys leucipes.) out of 150 traps. Cold weather or scarcity of vegetation may be cause of poor trapping. Moved by 8 a.m., going across Stonewall Flat to the Cactus Range. Ammospermophilus very abundant around Cactus Springs. Came down to Cactus Flat and set out two trap lines by 11:30 A.M. Also, placed one gopher set in road. From here we about east to the Kauch Range and went up Brun Creek about 2 1/2 miles beyond Silverbow. Brun Creek camp is a very nice location. Its in the open part of a canyon just barely in the piƱon pine belt. Cabin and stove good. Birds quite plentiful. Went out for a walk in the afternoon and saw Eulaimias dasalis, shot 1 E.su. picks, saw Microtus remays (old) in grassy meadow. Shot a Redcent Orange-crowned Warbler, but at too
